Chris Medina Phenomenon

Original post HERE: 30 Jan 2011
Discrepancy due to failure to export/import blog

Initially, I just wanted to share a wonderful song, but it spun off to be about this particular American Idol contestant from Chicago IL, Chris Medina. I usually don't really follow the idol craze, but happened so I saw a trailer on national TV, about his audition. Before he performed an awesome rendition of "Break Even" by The Script,  Jennifer Lopez casually asked him to tell the judges more about his fiancé. Chris Medina, 26 years old then, got stumped for a little while, with the difficulty of going through his heart wrenching story...
Before you continue reading, I would like you to shut off the music embedded on this page [the player is on the right] and listen to the actual song "Break Even" by The Script while reading the rest of the post. You know, listening to music when reading this post would create a strong emotional connection, especially when you see the photos near the bottom. If you don't have the song, click HERE to let it load or play, then come back here to continuing reading the rest. Repeat the song if necessary.
Chris and Juliana had been together for 8 years, engaged for 2 years. They had plans to marry 2 years after the engagement but a horrific accident changed their lives. On the 2nd of October 2009, Juliana Ramos, was seriously injured in a car accident just two months before their planned wedding date, suffering traumatic brain injuries [TBI] in the process. Doctors at the time told them, that she probably wouldn't make it, but Chris persevered and believed strongly that Juliana could pull through. After a month and a half after the accident, Juliana really came to but due to the extensive brain damage, she appears to be unable to fully control her body movement, thus paralyzed and wheelchair ridden. However, Chris hasn't given up hope and prays for a miracle that Juliana would recover and get married, which they should have been.

Since then, the Chris Medina phenomenon spread around the globe; the news, youtube, facebook, and etcetera. You can click on the below links I've browsed on my earlier search.

You can also see a video of Juliana saying "hi to everyone" and her recovery phase, and a short preview of a song Chris has written for her.

His very own facebook page since the phenomenon and hey, 16 thousand likes so far. Not bad at all. I just think he should change his profile picture.

If you have kindly followed my "instructions" to load the video of "Break Even" by The Script, I hope you noticed the highest rated comments of the video as above, if not, below is a screenshot.
250 friggin' likes because they were lead to the video because of Chris Medina. Now that's influential. The Script kind of owes it to Chris Medina. I personally preferred their other song, "The Man Who Can't Be Moved"
I don't know if it moves you, but it indeed touched my heart. In fact, I got so inspired to learn and play this song as it seems to have represented their love, like their anthem. In case you've totally missed the video, but I'll also embed the video of the original song at the end of this post for you folks to enjoy. Because I'll really encourage listening to the song whilst viewing the below section.
Chris Medina's amazing words:
"What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me the most."
Chris Medina And Juliana Ramos
Chris planting a big one on Juliana's cheek.
Chris singing to Juliana at RMU when she was still in a coma.
A couple of weeks before she woke up.
Chris having band practice with Juliana. A good form of physiotherapy too.
Chris helping Juliana for her meal.
Chris Medina, you've got great vocals and potential, I'll wish you all the best. But even if you do not win the American Idol, you have won our hearts with your undying love for your beautiful fiancé and instantly became an idol in all our hearts. Full respect for you. I'm not a follower of the Christian faith, but I too, pray for a miracle for Juliana Ramos to recover fully. [God, you hearing me?] With blessings from me and all of us around the world, get well soon, and marry Chris Medina, who never gave up on you, whom deserves you as much as you meant to him.
