3D Movie Primers

Last evening, I've just had my first ever experience in watching a specific type of film. Virgin, whatever you call that. But it was ecstatic as it really brought out that special sensory. I really enjoyed it. 3D Film I meant, by the way. It's titled Despicable Me, and I'm glad I didn't attempt to watch it in 2D just to save the little bit of money. However, for those who are like me, catching a 3D movie for the first time, I think it's important to highlight some points to take note of.

First and most important; Do not wear glasses. If you are myopic, wear contact lenses instead. Some people like me who are just too used to wearing glasses, may just head into the theater forgetting that we have to wear those 3D glasses. Your glasses will just get in the way of the 3D glasses. Most probably , you can only wear either pair unless you had Pinocchio's nose. If you wear the 3D glasses only, your are short sighted; If you wear your glasses, you can see everything perfectly but the movie you paid for. As for those young one's who think ultra big & thick frames are so trendy, I would love to see how big a fool you'd look like trying to wear both.

Next is the lens of the glasses; they do not appear to be very clean. Stained with fingerprints, oily streak marks, to stuff you wished you didn't know, somehow you'll naturally try to wipe it clean with your shirt or something. I can tell you that the general cotton fabric that we wear is unable to remove marks or residue. How about bringing some glass/LCD panel cleaning solution and a polish cloth the next time?

If hand-foot-mouth disease often breeds from child care centers, the cinemas would be the next big thing in the near future. The glasses may be fairly new for now, but they will wear down in a matter of time, carrying germs, bacteria, nacho sauce, soft drink and spreading it to the masses. Remember those times when chewing gum was a problem? Pranksters would stick them to the bottom of the theater chairs or arm-rest? Imagine if they were now to stick the gum to the bridge of the glasses where it'll rest on our nose? Oh... & trust me. the cinema staff will not bother or care less to clean, check or sterilize the glasses. They just place them back onto the racks and await new unsuspecting victims.

What I recommend is, bring some of those nice little package of cleaning wipes or wet tissues. Like Dettol Wipes. Especially if you are very prone or vulnerable to acne or skin diseases, make the show your last stop before home. Hit the showers once you're back and give your T-zone a good thorough scrub.

I'm not discouraging 3D movies, in fact they are spectacular. Just some of my 2 cents worth.
